There is no master list to correlate to a model. There is also one dent near the 3rd fret and a few scuffs on the back of the neck (picture 9) but it hardly hampers the playability of the guitar. An Ibanez serial number can tell you two things, year of manufacture and factory or country of manufacture. The neck on this is fabulous, smooth and straight with nice inlays. 1997 and after (CE logo designation) F FujiGen YYXXXXX format YY year (981998) XXXXX production number 1987-1997.
It can take some buffing but I just leave it like this. Serial numbers Ibanez Serial Numbers (non Acoustic). Previous owner put some glue over the ding to protect the wood and prevent the paint from chipping away. It’s in good condition except for a few dings here and there, some checking in the paint, cracking in the original plastic switcher tip and the ding on the bottom edge (picture 8). For a 40 years old guitar, it still sounds great and plays great! Original Maxon pickups and electronics are untouched. When and where the guitar was made (as well as the production number) A typical serial number will look like this: F90512345 The letter tells you what factory the guitar was made in. Judging by the rounded corners at the base of the neck by the pickups, this is a 1971 or 1972 model 2351. A serial number can tell you many things about an Ibanez guitar.
